EuroAirport Bale-Mulhouse-Fribourg

Extension of existing terminal facilities and harmonisation of the airport through its casing, using a complete glass exterior.

  • The aim of our involvement was to increase the capacity of the infrastructure whilst adding volume, transparency and light to the original solid, compact building, dating from the 1960s. The tree-like steel shafts that support the new structure are like a constructed landscape that extends to the outside, filtering the light and creating transparency. This major project was entirely completed while the site was in use. Awarded the 2004 prize for best construction in metal.
